In a major action at Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow, the police seized opium worth Rs 21 lakh. The police also arrested a smuggler along with the opium.

The smuggler has been identified as a resident of Amritsar, who was going to Amritsar with opium from Nepal. Police have recovered one and a half kilograms of opium from the smuggler.

Police said that they had received information that a smuggler was going to Amritsar with opium from Nepal. Based on this information, the police raided Charbagh railway station and arrested the smuggler.

The police is engaged in further action and trying to find out who are the people behind the smugglers and what is the entire network of opium smuggling.
