After hinting at the new Life is Strange installment last week, a special live stream held earlier today revealed the name of the new installment: Life is Strange: Reunion. Max Caulfield is back once again, joined by her first best friend, Chloe Price.
Deck Nine developed Reunion, the sequel to Life is Strange: Double Exposure, set in 2024. The game takes place in the same location, Caledon University, but this time, there is a fire. Max manages to escape the fire using the rewind mechanism, but the friends, the students, and the staff are all killed.
Max avoids this fate in the only way that is possible: by using a selfie to jump back in time, having three days to uncover the cause of the fire in order to save the school from destruction. But in the aftermath of Max’s activities in Double Exposure, Chloe appears at Caledon University. She is confused, plagued by visions of a memory that is not her own, and in need of Max’s assistance.
The game features Max and Chloe as playable characters in Reunion. Max has the ability to rewind time in order to replay certain decisions and alter the world in a manner that would allow Max to solve four-dimensional puzzles. Chloe’s character utilizes her Backtalk ability from Life is Strange: Before the Storm. This character’s sharp tongue and attitude allow her to move conversations in directions that Max couldn’t. Regardless of the final result, Deck Nine considers Reunion to be the final finale for Max and Chloe’s story.
Life is Strange: Reunion will release on March 26th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will retail at $39.99 for the Standard Edition, and there are three special editions available. One of the special editions is a package that comes with Double Exposure. Here are the details:
